PARC BUENA, California, 22 December 2021 / PRNewswire-PRWeb / – After missing the 2020 holiday season, the Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith Christmas Tour has returned for the 2021 holiday season with support from the Yamaha Rivage PM3 and Rivage PM5 digital mixing consoles. Chosen for their compact footprint without sacrificing the renowned performance of the Rivage series digital mixing systems, a PM3 handled mixing tasks at the front of the house, while a PM5 handled on-stage monitoring tasks for performers. .

“As we mostly performed in theaters and PACs (performing arts centers), we did less production than we would for an arena tour, but that didn’t mean we could compromise on performance. audio quality ”, explains Greg lee, tour manager for Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith, Christmas Tour 2021. “PM3 and PM5 gave us the same performance and flexibility we expect from the Rivage series, in compact work surfaces that made production logistics a bit easier and tour bookkeepers. a little happier. ”

Weighing nearly 95 pounds (43 kg) less than a Rivage PM10 desk, the PM5 has an approximately 10% smaller footprint and the PM3 approximately 23% smaller than the Rivage PM10 and Rivage PM7 consoles. The tour’s PM3 and PM5 control surfaces both used Yamaha DSP-R10 mixer engines with 144 inputs, 72 mixer outputs, 36 matrices with a full list of plug-ins from Rupert Neve Designs, Bricasti and Eventide, all housed in a 5U chassis. All on-stage signal inputs and outputs were routed through Yamaha RPio622 stage boxes with all signal flow into the Rivage system done through the proprietary TWINLANe configuration. For added peace of mind, all Rivage consoles, mixer motors and I / O boxes include dual redundant onboard power supplies to ensure stable power during any critical deployment.

“While the control surfaces might be a bit smaller, make no mistake, these are Rivage consoles through and through,” says Kevin Kimmel, systems application engineer for the digital mixing systems of the Rivage series. “Using the same mixer motors, I / O and other features as their bigger brothers, the PM3 and PM5 deliver the same Rivage performance at a more affordable price. ”
