ARTISTIC WINNERS: Lakeland Art Center & Gallery in Warsaw announced that Terry Pulley won the Best of Show award at his Spring Juried Show for his work, “Road Kill”. Wesley Dallas won first place for “Lone Eagle”.
EMMY AWARD: Artist Unleashed won three Regional Emmy Awards at the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Lower Great Lakes’ 52nd Annual Emmy Section for her creation of the Virtual Holiday Spectacular. Category wins include technical achievement, audio – live and post-production, and original composition / arrangement. The virtual show featured artists who had lost their jobs due to the pandemic. More than 200 musicians, dancers, singers, film crews and sound engineers from 14 organizations came together to perform and more than 150,000 people around the world watched the show via Facebook, YouTube and public TV in December and January.
MURALS INSTALLED: The NewAllen Alliance is working on installing murals in communities as part of the East Allen Rural Revival regional development plan. Installing murals in communities in eastern Allen County is expected to create an opportunity to promote downtown businesses and promote eastern Allen County as a destination. Hoagland is the first community to move forward with the installation of their mural at 11117 English St.
