Corey Taylor tested positive for COVID-19: “I am very, very sick”
Slipknot leader Corey Talyor has tested positive for COVID-19.
Taylor made the announcement in a video shared on the Astronomicon pop culture convention’s Facebook page. He was scheduled to attend their event in Ann Arbor, Michigan, this weekend.
Sounding distinctly hoarse, Taylor said, “I wish I had better news. I woke up today and tested positive, and I’m very, very sick. So I’m not going to make it this weekend. end, and I am absolutely devastated. I am so sorry. Hope everyone has a good time. I promise you that I will absolutely try to return as soon as possible.
“I should be fine. “It’s just [like] influenza. I am vaccinated so I am not worried. But I certainly wouldn’t want to pass it on to anyone else. So everyone is safe there. And thank you very much. And I’ll see you again, I promise. “
Last year, Australian radio station Triple M Triple asked Taylor if he had a message for those who doubt the severity of the pandemic and are reluctant to wear masks.
“My country is full of these fools who think it’s some kind of political point of view or some kind of partisan garbage,” he replied. “And I’m just like, ‘Are you serious?’ Just because no one in your life has been affected by it doesn’t mean it’s not a real thing.
He added, “I once had to wear a full face mask for eight hours while doing the Slipknot press. Eight hours straight – you haven’t taken it off, but these people are going to bitch and complain about wearing it for 10 minutes to the market? Surprise yourself. ”
Speaking to Forbes earlier this month, the Slipknot Clown percussionist detailed the steps Slipknot took to keep them safe while checking in, saying, “If we were in the control room and around the engineers who worked for the studio, we had to wear masks. If we were in the concert hall where we were recording around each other, and we had all been tested, we didn’t have to wear masks. But, if an employee was there, we had to put them on. “
