Louth County Council is seeking applications from suitably qualified candidates for funding under the Local Live Performance Scheme.

The scheme, an initiative of the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, aims to support established professional artists, arts organisations/groups, producers and promoters to program and present live shows in County Louth in September and October. . It is expected that the program will offer successful applicants the opportunity to propose new activities, beyond the scope of their main activity or their usual program of events.

It is expected that the grant award per event will be between €2,500 and €10,000. Some higher awards may be considered up to a maximum of €20,000 if the scale and audience reach is deemed significant enough. This funding program is intended to support programming in County Louth, which offers a diverse range of multiple art forms.

Funding can be used to support fees for performers of all genres, including designers, technicians, crew, lighting and sound engineers, support staff and associated costs. Local professional artists are expected to be among the elements of each successful proposal. Applicants must demonstrate at least three years of professional experience in programming and presenting live events.

Louth County Council says it welcomes applications from individuals, groups and organizations who represent the diversity of Irish society. We encourage applications from all sectors of the community. The local authority says it is committed to a fair remuneration and artist remuneration policy and asks individuals to refer to the arts councils policy on artist remuneration when valuing their time as an artist and those who collaborate with them.
